Wisp III – Work in Progress

I confess that I love this simple scarf pattern — Wisp by Cheryl Niamath.  Here is a photo of my currently scarf (#III) using this pattern.  As with Wisp I, this uses Jojoland Harmony wool yarn.

Wisp I was made for my niece Kristen.  It is approx 10 in X 62 in.

Wisp II was made casting on 50 stitches rather than 46 so it would be slightly wider.  I did 28 repeats rather than 17.  The result when blocked was a shawl 14 in X 74 in.

I used Kid Merino wool as I had some left from this shawl, but had to scramble to find another skein as the color (#4677) I had is a discontinued one.   I gave this one to a neighbor’s step-daughter who was in hospice dying of cystic fibrosis.  My neighbor inherited when the young woman died this spring.

Here’s another photo while the work was in progress:

These are soooo beautiful! But I must admit that when I saw the title, I couldn’t help smiling – A Wisp that’s a WIP. Tee hee 🙂
